The server comprises of the associated software and computer. The software is the one that is used to establish and handle users who seek remote access to the network. The server often comprises or is related to another firewall server so as to ensure the security. It also consists of a router, which is capable of forwarding the request for access to another section of the network; the server also may comprise or handle a collection of modems. This collection of modems can be common among vast numbers of users who are intermittently present.

The remote desktop and access to files:

This facility also lets the users who use one particular computer to view and also interact with the user of another computer. This facility is very important when it comes to offices where there are a number of computers and the employees might need to interact with one another who are using different systems. This lets one set up a remote desktop that involves software configuration on both target and host. Many of the remote desktops are based out of VNC technology where the software works between more than one OS. The speed can vary depending on several factors.

When it comes to accessing files, remote network lets files to be written to target and also read from. This is possible without the presence of remote desktop. VPN lets one to login remotely and also access the file’s functionality across WAN.

Remote access is hence, a very important facility that makes communication and other works easy.
