Samsung Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 5S

05:09

Samsung and Apple have long been fighting for the crown of best smartphone manufacturer. Here we are going to compare Samsung’s flagship beauty Galaxy S5 and iPhone overweening latest version 5S head to head to analyse whether Galaxy S5 has that extravagant specifications that makes it stand out from the outset or iPhone 5s would maintain its hegemony in the market likewise past.

Before the advent of S5, Samsung’s galaxy series was so vulnerable to get stereotyped about its fragile and tenuously thin chassis but S5 has broken the set precedent. It still has a body mostly made out of plastic but it’s thicker and it has IP67 water and dust proof certification which should practically make it more durable and tough as compared to IPhone 5S. The specifications for both smart phones were verified from Phone Market for writing this comparison.

Display

Display is what makes Samsung look like take a lead in the race of gadgets. SGS5 Super AMOLED screen which Samsung claimed it would be less saturated than the usual; bearing picture density of 432 ppi is as sharp as water and would give images a spectacular impact. Its 5.1 inch screen enjoying 1080 p resolution as compared to IPhone 5S 1136 p is inarguably nothing but an absolute class. Racy picture sharpness and robust color production being noteworthy traits of Super AMOLED Led is not less than a treat to experience owing to SGS5’ 1920x1080 display resolution. Picture density of 326 ppi knocked iPhone back to a major extent in this comparison.

So to sum it up, iPhone 5S' 4 inches IPS LCD retina display would fail to make itself count in the eyes of users because the Samsung Galaxy S5 is way better when it comes to LCD make and screen size.

Internals & Software

SGS5 has an Adreno 330 Graphics processor and a Snapdragon 801 microprocessor chip clocked at 2.3 GHz viz-a-viz iPhone 5S which is powered by 64-bit dual-core 1.4GHz Apple A7 processor packaged with M7 co-processor. Super-fast Quad-core processor of SGS5 embodies it with superfluous interface whereas despite of iPhone 5S’ Dual processor, you won’t find any application which iPhone processor can’t deal with ease while keeping its abruptness intact. iPhone 5S has a1 GB RAM whereas Galaxy S5 has double the memory.

A maximum of 32 GB Built-in memory of SGS5 is a lot to satiate easily whereas iPhone 5S which is available with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB built-in storage options. But bear in mind, Samsung rescinded its memory deficiency by integrating itself with a micro SD card slot by means of which more space amounting monumental 128 GB is available for SGS5 owner.

In Samsung Galaxy 5, Android 4.4.2 KitKat would elicit an obstruction-free use. Whereas IPhone 5S operates on iOS 7 which also exhibits so endearing appeal to resist and makes it run smoothly, enabling it to make the best out of millions of apps available on app store.

Camera

SGS5 high resolution 16 Mega pixel camera has the auto focus speed of 0.3 seconds. It would result in snaps having shallow depth of field effects that would be worth-espying. As far as iPhone 5s is concerned, it contains 8MP rear camera with dual-LED flash technology that contributes a lot in its high picture quality and noise cleared image. Brilliant color differentiation with sharp resolution of both smart phones will give resplendent effect to the images but one should give SGS5 an edge when it comes to image quality and resolution.

Fact worth mentioning is that SGS5 can make videos of up to 4K resolution whereas iPhone 5S’ video resolution is 1080p. In Samsung Galaxy S5, Aperture of F2.2 conjugated with 1/2.5” camera sensor with multiple features of Auto-focus, High Dynamic Range Mode, Touch to Focus, Manual Focus would definitely yield better results. On the contrary, True-Tone flash , Slow-mo video, Autofocus, Touch Id fingerprint sensor, iSight camera, Burst mode, Sapphire crystal lens cover , Backside illumination sensor, Five element lens, Hybrid IR filter enable iPhone 5S to deal with SGS5 in terms of high-end specifications. Its aperture size of F2.2 and sensor size of 1/3” illuminate and exonerate the snaps shot via iPhone 5S to a fair deal. For selfie lovers (and video calling of course), SGS5 supports 2.1 MP front camera whereas iPhone’s FaceTime camera has 1.2 mega pixels that can record videos at 720p HD resolution.

Battery

A USB port placed at the bottom of SGS5 has a 3.0 USB port which that also results in faster battery recharge and rapid data transfer. Whereas the battery featured in the iPhone 5S is a Li-Ion 1,560mAh, but despite having a smaller battery, it offers 10 hours of talk time in a go. Fatigue of recharging your iPhone daily makes it evident that Samsung Galaxy S5 is also leading its way in ‘being alive’ for more span than iPhone 5S.

Final Verdict

Extending to its users a more furrowed and tough design with posh display, state-of-the-art camera and vast battery life, Samsung Galaxy S5 is a better option. However SGS5 will face real competition in future when Apple will uncover its next generation of iPhone.
