iOS Games are a great addition to the gaming world. Not all the games are worth downloading to your mobile device, though, and there are so many out there that it’s hard to choose. Here is a glimpse at some of the very best of the current iOS games available to you.

Groove Coaster Zero 

 This version of Groove Coaster is free-to-play and just as appealing as the paid version. All it takes is one finger to navigate the controls, but don’t think that this means the game lacks the fun of a challenge. It’s filled with several tracks (levels) that you unlock as you progress through the game, each with a new challenge for the player. If you enjoy music-based games, this one is for you because it has several game-exclusive music tracks and more.

Kingdom Rush 

Out of all the tower-defense available to play, this one is probably the best in terms of commitment to the genre and sense of humor. Don’t expect this to be like some of the watered-down tower defense games or line defense that you have played before. Kingdom Rush is a comedy fantasy game with varying levels of difficulty -- all a challenge -- with opportunities to upgrade, buy materials with gems won in the game and the new Heroes feature for most of the levels.

Chaos Rings II 

 Chaos Rings II is a great addition to the Chaos Rings RPG series. It has been selected as one of the Best of 2012 apps, and doesn’t disappoint. The artwork and graphics are beautiful and it has great game features. Players have a number of paths to choose from for their storyline, with hidden bosses and endings. The character’s developed for the game are unique and beautifully made. Player’s will love the world of Chaos Rings II as well as the story.

Punch Quest

A collaboration between Rocketcat Games and Madgarden, Punch Quest is more than a simple bash-im’ and crash-im’ kind of game. Every second of the game requires decision-making from the player as they encounter a variety of monsters with different strengths and weaknesses. Frantically tapping the controls isn’t going to cut it, especially if you want the special abilities, Supermoves or even a really fancy hat. Punch Quest is an arcade-style game, but a great addition to the iOS gaming world.

Horn 

 For those looking for a beautiful fantasy world adventure game, Horn is one to check out. Horn is the name of the protagonist, a young blacksmith’s apprentice who somehow escapes the clutches of a curse that turns the people of his village into large, metal monsters. It is up to him to break the curse, which will take him through challenging landscapes and puzzles. The world itself is interesting enough to urge anyone to try out this game, but it also has many features that you don’t often see in other role-playing games like 360 views, expressive characters and an individual style.

Civilization Revolution

There are plenty of strategy and role-playing/simulation games out there, but Civilization Revolution is one of the most addicting. Players can choose from a large list of historical leaders and countless other settings to customize their game experience. As the leader of your civilization, it is your job to build your civilization up while conquering and conducting diplomacy with those you encounter along the way. Civilization Revolution is one of the few iOS games to come close to the PC version. Their latest update to the game is causing some glitches, but the next update will hopefully fix that.

Bad Piggies 

 The creators of Angry Birds have done it again. They have created another addicting mobile game. Critics agree that this is one of the best games so far, and IGN has even awarded it the title “Best Mobile Game of 2012”. Unlike the other games in the Angry Birds series, this game comes from the perspective of those bad, green piggies. They are after the eggs and must build a flying machine to get them. Help the piggies build and upgrade until they’ve finally beaten over 114 challenging levels.
