Maximize system performance: If you are a Windows Vista user, then you can check if your computer is running at maximum efficiency. You can navigate to the Reliability and Performance Monitor from the Control Panel and then create a System Health Report. This report will give a full account of your hardware and software configuration and networking systems, thereby giving you an idea of your system’s drawbacks. The report also gives you detailed suggestions as to how you can fix problems, if there are any.

Onscreen keyboard: The onscreen keyboard is a special feature of the Windows XP operating system. You can type simply by clicking on the alphabets with the mouse and can also change the settings to “press” keys by placing the mouse over the alphabet you want.

Easy shutdown: Windows XP users can also shut down their PC with the help of a desktop icon. To create the icon, right click on desktop, click on “shortcut”, and write down “shutdown-s-t 00”. Clicking this icon will directly lead to the shutdown of your computer.

Open new tabs: If you use the web browser ‘Safari’ in a Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system, then there is an easy way of opening an address in a new tab without navigating out of the current tab. For this, all you will have to do is to type the address in the address bar and then press “Command+ Enter”.

View trash files: For Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users, viewing the contents of a file in the trash folder is quite easy. Navigate to the file in the trash, click on it and then hit “Command + Y” to view the file contents without dragging them out of the Trash folder.

Microsoft Office tips: Microsoft Office is a common application used in many operating systems. If you are using Word 2007, then you can check your writing style by clicking on Grammar and Style which comes under Word Options. If you are working on a Power Point Presentation and you want to change its resolution, then you can click Pictures from the Web Options tab and then choose the screen size you want.

Upgrade program access: To improve your program accessibility, you can make use of the Quick Launch toolbar. Click on this toolbar and then drag programs to it. You can then select the required programs either by clicking on them or by using the Windows key.
