Some Tips to Stay Connected with your Loved ones during cellular Blockage in Pakistan

no signal in cell phone
We are living in an age where communication is necessity. One cannot live without communicating with each other. Communication is the only thing that we all got in common and we spend several hours in communicating with each other. We communicate with each other in several different ways. Some people communicate with the medium of face-to-face, voice calls, video calls, and most of the time we are communicating on SMS with our loved ones. These days the advancement in technology has made ease for everyone. Now communication has been made much easier than before.

Year back, staying connected with everyone was a very difficult task. Not everyone was aware of the latest trend, at that time, the technology was very limited, and not everyone could use complicated technological ways of communication. The communication through Cell Phones was limited to very few people because the prices were so high at that time due to which not everyone could afford a Cell Phone. We can say that people used to communicate by the medium of E-Mails, Landlines, and Hand Written Letters. After several years of innovation, the technology changed so drastically that it changed the way we used to communicate with each other.

This drastic change in technology reduced the communication gap that was created years ago by introducing Smart Phones. The same smart phones that changed the way we used to communicate with each other. In the initial stage we used to do voice calls and SMS, but with the help of advancement in technology, we can do video calls and voice calls over different mediums present today. The first medium of the Internet and the second Medium are of the Applications that are provided by Smart Phone’s these days to communicate with each other.

Smart Phones as we know are user friendly and they are not dependent on the cellular services that are being provided by different carriers across Pakistan to the users. We have limited our self within the boundary of Cellular Networks. We don’t bother to look or think out of the box. We have made our self so much dependent on the cellular services that a day without cellular network seems to be a very boring day. The day without cellular service seems like we are being punished for something, we have done something illegal for which we are punished.

Now talking about cellular service, we know that we are living in a country were security risk is high and everyone needs to stay connected with each other in order to stay up to date with the current situation of the country or the city in which the person is living. In order to control security threats, our foreign minister, Rehman Malik orders the cellular networks to shut down the services on special occasions like Eid or Chaand Raat for a particular time span because security threats are on the verge in these days. Whenever we hear about a blackout of cellular services is announced, we tend to call, or SMS more before the clock shows the time for the blackout. We forget that we are using a smart phone by which we can stay connected to our loved ones even if the services are not present on the Smart Phone.

This might sound strange that how can one connect to love one’s sitting across the country without a cellular network. No one can even think about speaking to someone without cellular connection.

If you are getting the same thought, then you need to think out of the box and need to explore your smart phone with us. As being a citizen of Pakistan, we know that about everyone got a smart from starting from lowest range to higher range. These days to have smart phone with tons of new and advanced features is not complicated/hard to own.

Therefore, we need to understand those features and must know about how to use them during blackout of cellular networks or in some other condition. Lets start with the most bought and famous Smart Phone called iPhone by Apple.

Apple’s iPhone:

We are starting with the iPhone because it is the most advanced and technical phone that is not yet introduced in Pakistan officially, but it is being sold unofficially and the numbers of iPhone users are numerous across Pakistan.

These days we are dependent on cellular networks so much that we have forgot a thing called Internet. We know how to use Internet to waste time and don’t know how can we use Internet to stay connected with our loved ones with the help of iPhone using Internet.

When we talk about Internet, we mean Wi-Fi (Wire Less) Internet that almost every one has got in their respective homes. Other than this, we use iPhone as a symbol of richness and don’t know that we can use the same iPhone to stay connected with our loved ones without cellular networks in several different ways.

The several different ways are mentioned below:

3. Skype
4. Viber
